Reading another essay on Harry. Here the author says that Dumbledore appears feminine and compares his voice and demeanour with a breast-feeding mother. Need to wash brain now. Ugh.

First: Ew.

Second: I'm sure you thought of this, but I'm curious too. Did the author of that essay write it before or after JKR's "revelation" about Dumbledore's sexuality?

Nope, before. After GoF, I think. The feminine part is sorely based on him wearing a purple robe & boots with heels and having long, wavy, silvery hair (which I also call a beard and most people wouldn't see that as very feminine, but hey.). And lets not forget his 'gentle voice' ... err ... yeah, and what about all the oh so motherly manipulation? Pfft.

*rolls eyes* That's awful stereotyping. And quite misogynist when you look at the "motherly manipulation" bit. Urgh. And his manner of dress mostly comes off as quirky or eccentric, something that goes with the territory of being very old - and, you know, a wizard! *sighs* People, really...

Yeah, one just has to take a look at what the other wizards wear. Women's nightgowns to pass as a Muggle or what was that? Besides, they wear robes. Which Severus likes to make flick and flutter and whatnot. Honestly.

Pls to be passing the brain-disinfectant...

And hello? Sending off to die, much?

Moreover, speaking as an ex-breast-feeding mother: where was all the FUCK! That HURTS! Are you sure we shouldn't put him on the bottle...?

Well, the last books weren't out then, but still ... NO. That essay was full of over-interpretation. Motherly Dumbledore my arse.

Yeah, looking so forward to breast-feeding now. XD Especially with that picture stuck in my head. UGH.
