1) Books! Because I love to read - fic and Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta this week.
2) This utterly useless and weirdly pretty crochet-card-thingy inspired me to make my own of the kind. Gotta occupy my massive amount of free time somehow.
3) I love macarons or actually any type of pastry or baked goods in general. I haven't managed to bake this week, but I'm planning on making Lemon BurstFairycakess tomorrow.
This time no recs - not because there weren't any great stories, but because I didn't manage to assemble them. They'll follow later this weekend. ♥

Writing
OMG I'm beta-reading one of my original fics that I started around summer 2010 when I couldn't use my right arm (thanks to chronic tenosynovitis and the thank-God-finally following surgery). I used a speech-recognition program, mainly because I was working on my master thesis and looking at what I wrote... well. I'm surprised that I managed to produce a coherent text. Maybe the program only likes scientific stuff. IDEK.
Anyone, here's one of the gems from my fic:
Either one remember things too fondly, like when Peter's buddy Peter and he finds that weird, hounded shack and awards.

Baking
How exactly do you measure a cup of butter? Do you just squeeze in as much butter as you can, like to the brim? Or do you put pieces of butter inside the cup, without the cup having to be completely full?
That's why I like the metric system. No weird estimations of cups.

My Friday Favourites today are:
1) Crochet Cupcakes that I made - I used this pattern and used decorative pins as nonpareils. And since I was a bit bored, I started making petit fours. Since there was no popper pattern (well, I could've bought one, but… nah) I made my own.
2) Scotland (plus sheep, because I like sheep) – because I met up with a friend from Scotland this past week and had a wonderful time. Plus, I absolutely adore Scottish accents.

It's called Wandless - don't let yourselves be squicked by the warnings, they sound worse than they are. Yes, Harry's 16 - meaning there's CHAN - but the rating is R and the chan really isn't in your face, IMO. Also, it's a disability fic.
Now that the formalities are out of the way: I really liked how Harry's disability was treated. There was loads of other stuff that I loved, naturally, but I can't tell you about that without spoiling the fun. ;) So go read it! |

I claimed my fics He needs a little Christmas and Not With a Bang, posted my Tally and updated started a new List of Books that I read ( last year I managed to read 52).

Hallo Lovelies!
Everyone already in Christmas Frenzy Mood? Christmas Eve is the most important day of Christmas in Germany (also, stores are closed on the 25th & 26th), which explains chaos and weirdness in all households, including mine naturally. Meaning: I accidentally smashed and egg in the fridge and got to clean the thing. Hooray?
My family is off buying more presents and I started cooking for the next couple of days. The base for the sorbet/sherbet is in the fridge, the sponge cake for the dessert in just out of the oven, chocolates for coffee are cooling and I'm off to make parfait.
Will tune in later to finally sit down and read some fic (looking forward to that!) and post a ton a couple of drabbles. ;P
And BTW, I kinda just saw entries in passing about LJ being shit - what the hell is happening there? |
